This screen allows you to:
Denote that the travel agent has sent in only the net payment amount for a reservation. The commission due the agent was deducted from the payment sent.
This system will support a travel agent withholding their commission from the reservation payment. For example, you have a thousand-dollar rental and the agent will receive ten percent or one hundred dollars. The agent could send you only nine hundred and you would not have to send them their commission check. If this occurs, and it is up to you whether you wish to allow it, you must use the Agent Withheld Payment option on the Reservation Maintenance Menu in order to tell the system this occurred. You can also denote at reservation time that the agent has withheld payment. The reservation will be credited for the withheld amount and the travel agent will not receive a check. The withheld amount will be posted to the agent withheld deposit account established in the control file.
Before you begin:
Select the Agent Withheld Payment option from the Reservation Maintenance Menu. The Reservation Maintenance Menu is located on the Reservations Menu.
Only reservations secured by a travel agent can use this option. A credit will be posted to the reservation for the withheld amount and a check will not be issued to the travel agent for the commission. The system will not allow a reservation to use this option more than once.
To change an individual reservation, you must retrieve the reservation by the reservation number or by name. Once a reservation has been retrieved, the single prompt below is asked. This allows you to quickly denote that the agent has withheld payment.
