Amenities File

The amenities file stores any amenities that will be needed in a package.  Amenities only have a value when assigned to a package (see Package File).  For example, a bottle of champagne could be an amenity for a honeymoon package.  An exception to this rule is the Reservation Fee Amenity.  The value of the Reservation Fee Amenity is stored in the rate file and embedded with the rent.  The Reservation Fee Amenity Number is then assigned in the control file.

The amount an amenity cost can be based on is a per adult/per child basis and/or a cost per reservation basis.  Normally a single item given to a reservation, like the bottle of champagne, would be a cost per reservation (unless you were going to give a bottle to each guest).  A round of golf would be based on the number of people in the party.

Amenities can be set to print coupons.  Coupons are used to control the usage of the amenity by the guests.  Not all amenities would need a coupon printed.  For example the bottle of champagne is given to them at check-in, so no coupon is needed.  A city tour amenity would need a coupon to be printed.  The guest would receive the coupon at check-in, go on the tour and turn in the coupon.  The Tour Company would turn in to you any coupons it received and you would pay them based on the coupons returned.  See Also Amenities File Menu under the Screens topic.
