Seasons File Screen

 

This screen allows you to:

Create new season records or modify existing records.

 

Before You Begin:

Choose the Seasons File option from Files on the menu bar.

Search:

Use this text box to search for a season that is already on file.  Type in the short identifier for the season and then click "Go" or choose the [Show all] and select a season from the list.  After choosing, you may proceed to Split a season, Edit, or Remove any existing record.

 

Go:    

Click this button after entering a record already on file to begin your search.

 

Show all:

This selection will show all seasons you have created in a list.  You may highlight a season from the list and double-click or press <Enter> to retrieve the selected season.

New:

Click "New" to create a season that doesn’t already exist.

Year:

The three active years will be displayed.  Your current year is the default year.  The two years not chosen will be underlined.  Choose the year you want to work with.

 

Season ID:

This is a short identifier for the season.  When "New" is selected to create a new season a number will be assigned to the record.  You can leave this number or type in an abbreviation of your season. 

 

Description:

This is the description for the season.  This description will be displayed next to the arrival date when making a reservation; this helps the operator to be aware which season the reservation is falling into.

 

Season dates:

Once a season is selected the Description and the dates within the season record will display in the Season dates box. 

If you are creating a new season you will:

1.    Name the season record.

2.    Enter a Description for the record.

3.    Then you will click the split button as you will be splitting the ALL YEAR season that runs from 01/01 to 12/31 and renaming each of the divisions according to your seasonal divisions. 

 

       For example, lets say you have the following four seasons:

       High Summer Season  - May 15th to September 5th

       Sports Winter Season  - September 6th to October 31st

       Winter Season             - November 1st to February 20th

       Sports Spring Season   - February 21st to May 14th

       The entries you would make in the Season dates fields are as follows:

       Season 1 Begin Date  -  05/15

       Season 2 Begin Date  -  09/06

       Season 3 Begin Date  -  11/01

       Season 4 Begin Date  -  02/21

       Season 5 Begin Date  -  <Enter>

The descriptions may be entered after the new dates are entered.  These seasons will be used when making a reservation to determine which unit rental rate to charge.  Also, when entering the rental rates for a unit, these seasons will be displayed to assist the entry.

 

Season Descr:

Enter the season descriptions or a way to identify the different divisions or days you have created in RMS.

 

Apply:           

Click this button to save your changes to the season record you are editing or splitting.

 

 

OK:

This button updates the files with the seasons information you provided and returns you to the beginning of the seasons screen.  New seasons may be defined now, or you may choose the [Exit] button to return to the main screen.

 

Cancel:

You may abort the seasons you have worked on with this button.  It will clear your entries and give you a fresh screen.

 

Delete:

The [Delete] button will delete the season record that is displayed.  It will be completely gone and not recoverable without restoring the system from a backup.
