Upload Letters and Unit Photos

 

This option allows you to:

Transfer letters and pictures to your hosted RMS and export some files such as custom reports.  When files such as letters are uploaded, you can assign them in the Source File of the letter in User Designed Letters.  Exported files must be directed to RMSFILES\Exports\EnterFilename.  Choose the appropriate way to upload photos depending on your computer and operating system.

 

Before you begin:

 

[Web-based RMS upload process](for Windows and Mac users)

1.)  RMSSERVER.com Go to http://content1.resortplanet.com/upload

2.) Log in using the following credentials:

- Username: XXX(Please call or email support for this information)

- Password: XXX(Please call or email support for this information)

3.) On the 'Unit Photos' tab, click on the 'Select photos...' button and browse to the location of the photos on your computer (you may highlight up to 5 files to upload at a time). ** Note that photos must have a minimum resolution of 640X480, otherwise they will be distorted when imported into RMS. **

4.) Click on the 'Start Uploading Photos >>' button.

5.) In RMS, go to Files > Unit File > [choose unit] > click on the 'Edit' under 'Unit Photos' (bottom left).

6.) Click on the 'Import' button (lower right) and select the photo (uploaded in step #3 above) that you would like to import.

 

Windows Users

1.) Right click on RMSFTP.ZIP.

2a.) If you use Windows XP, click on Open With > Compressed (zipped) Folders.

2b.) If you use Windows Vista/7, click on Open With > Windows Explorer.

3.) Right click on RMSFTP.BAT > Click 'Copy'.

4.) Right click on your desktop > Click 'Paste'.

5.) Copy and Paste all of the unit photos that you would like to upload to the server into your C:\RMSFILEs\UnitPhotos folder (you may organize them by putting them into separate folders). We recommend breaking your uploads up by uploading the photos in groups of 20 or so. ** Note that photos must have a minimum resolution of 640X480, otherwise they will be distorted when imported into RMS. **

6.) Double click your new RMSFTP.BAT utility on your desktop.

7.) Type in '1' when prompted, this will start the upload process.

8.) When the upload is finished, the utility will close automatically.

9.) In RMS, go to Files > Unit File > [choose unit] > click on the 'Edit' under 'Unit Photos' (bottom left).

10.) Click on the 'Import' button (lower right) and select the photo that you would like to import.

 

Windows XP Users only

Download the TSFTPClient bundle from http://login.rmsserver.com.  This will install an RMS directory with these files in it:  Attachments for you to store attachments to letters, a Custom Letters file called CustomLetters, an Online Content file for any graphics used on your web such as logos called OnlineContent and a file folder for your unit pictures called UnitPhotos.  Save the items you want to upload in their respective files prior to using this utility.  Once the utility is run the Exports folder will be created in RMSFILES, an Exports file is for receiving items that get exported from your RMS 

 

Choose the Upload icon:

Once you click the Upload Letters and Unit Photos icon with your mouse you will see a screen asking you what you would like to send to your hosted RMS.

1:  Enter 1 to upload Unit Photos <JPG>.

2:  Enter 2 to upload or send online content such as Custom Letter images <JPG, GIF>.

3:  Enter 3 to upload Custom Letters <HTML, HTM, TXT>.

4:  Enter 4 to upload any Attachments <PDF, JPG, GIF, ZIP>.

5:  Enter 5 to download RMS Exports to your PC.

Q:  Enter Q to quit and escape the screen.

For letters, once the utility is run, go to the appropriate letter in User Designed letters to assign the letter that has been uploaded.  Click the source file text box to look for the letter you added in the directory in your RMS.
