Introduction to Basic Concepts

 

The Resort Management System may be divided into seven major topics:

     File Maintenance

     Reservations

     Owner Accounting

     General Ledger

     Reports

     Maintenance

     Utilities

It is not always possible to discuss one topic without touching on another.  This is mainly because all of the items tend to affect some other item at some point or another.  This is generally referred to as being an integrated system. In an integrated system it is important that you understand how information you enter in one area can effect information in another.  The seven major topics will overlap each other on occasion, but this is done to reinforce the overall picture.
